9.5 Journal Response #1 – Relationship Choices

Hello everyone,

I will be reading the poem “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost and you must respond to the poem answering the following questions:

  • Looking at a relationship you have with someone (a friend, a brother or sister, a parent) does their opinion or presence influence the choices you have make in life?
  • Can you think about a relationship you have had where their influence has had a negative impact on (a) decision(s) you had to make?

If you wish to read the poem to help you with your reflection, here is the link for the poem.

The Road Not Taken

The journal entry must be at least one page.

English 30-2 Tuesdays With Morrie Topic #2

pages 14 – 40

Morrie says, “Life is a series of pulls back and forth.  You want to do one thing, but you are bound to do something else.  Something hurts you, yet you know it shouldn’t.  You take certain things for granted, even when you know you should never take anything for granted.  A tension of opposites, like a pull on a rubber band.  And most of us live somewhere in the middle.”

At this point in time, how does your life portray the tension of opposites?  Use specific examples to explain.
